Baseball Recap: Anderson County Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Anderson County and Bullitt Central, and Bullitt Central kept the tradition alive. The Bearcats fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Anderson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Cole, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Tyler Lay also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Anderson County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.25 runs. As for Bullitt Central, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Coming up, Anderson County will face off against Woodford County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bullitt Central, they will challenge Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
