Volleyball Recap: Valley View Falls to Wyoming Area in First Game of Season

Valley View had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Wyoming Area Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Valley View wouldn't go down easily and took Wyoming Area into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 24-26, 15-10.

Layla Marino and Monica Orellano certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Marino had 11 digs, nine kills, and six aces, while Orellano had 27 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Madison Hallock, who had seven digs and two aces.

Valley View has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Abington Heights on the 28th. As for Wyoming Area, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Wyoming Valley West on the 2nd.
