Softball Recap: North Fremont Victorious

North Fremont and Glenns Ferry pushed the score to 11-10 the last time they played Glenns Ferry, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pilots, sneaking past 3-1. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 11-10 win the Pilots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Peyton Lenz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, North Fremont's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brynnli Schultz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

The win got North Fremont back to even at 6-6. As for Glenns Ferry, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.

Looking ahead, North Fremont will take on Malad at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glenns Ferry, they will be playing at home against Soda Springs at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Pilots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
