Recap: St. Amant Gators vs. Dutchtown Griffins
It was a good run, but The St. Amant Gators unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak last Friday. They suffered a rough 31-7 defeat at the hands of Dutchtown.
Dutchtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Hanberry led the charge by rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Gary Dukes iii was another key contributor, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
St. Amant's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Dutchtown, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Amant will take on Walker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walker is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Dutchtown, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Denham Springs at 7:00 p.m. Denham Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Dutchtown is ranked 21st).
