Softball Recap: Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Has No Trouble Against Thompson

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 4-3 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Thompson Tommies as they made off with an 18-8 win. Considering the Gators have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Having lost for the first time this season, Thompson fell to 4-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 20, 2024.

For Thompson's part, Cindy Eliason was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Kya Hurst also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against East Grand Forks on the 17th. As for Thompson, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Tommies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
