Softball Game Preview: Central Christian Comets vs. Mathews Mustangs

The Central Christian Comets will head out to square off against the Mathews Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Christian is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Central Christian managed to slip by Orrville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Comets came up short against the Red Riders on Friday, falling 12-1.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Mathews made sure to put some runs up on the board against Windham on Monday. The Mustangs blew past the Bombers 11-4. Considering the Mustangs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mathews' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Central Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
