Volleyball Recap: Audrey Mensonides Key Part of Team Effort in Bulldogs Win + How To Watch

Turlock lost to Downey back in September, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Turlock took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-12.

Turlock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Audrey Mensonides led the charge by getting 17 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Mensonides has posted over her last four contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Cook, who had five digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Turlock was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Downey's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sofia Rosemire, who had ten digs and two assists. Inaya Akpovi also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Turlock pushed their record up to 21-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Downey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-10.

Turlock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Enochs on the 16th. As for Downey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Modesto on the 16th.
