Volleyball Recap: Hueneme Falls to Ventura in First Game of Season

Hueneme had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Ventura Cougars on Thursday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Hueneme took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-13.

Ventura was led to victory by Louie Nacu and Osvaldo Robles. Nacu had seven aces, while Robles had two aces.

The win made it two in a row for Ventura and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Hueneme didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Pacifica on the 3rd. As for Ventura, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Nordhoff on the 4th.
