Football Game Preview: Clackamas Cavaliers vs. South Medford Panthers

The Clackamas Cavaliers will venture away from home to face off against the South Medford Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Clackamas is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They managed a 35-31 victory over Liberty.

Meanwhile, South Medford had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pioneers 38-7. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Clackamas better keep an eye on Kellen Lefebvre. He was instrumental in South Medford's win, rushing for 158 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards Lefebvre has posted since back in September.

South Medford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oregon City only rushed for 46.

South Medford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Samuel Huxtable and Alijah Ingram.

The win got Clackamas back to even at 5-5. As for South Medford, their record now sits at 6-4.

Clackamas ended up a good deal behind South Medford in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, losing 51-33. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
