Auburn is 9-1 against Nebraska City since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Auburn Bulldogs will face off against the Nebraska City Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Auburn has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 19.

Last Tuesday, Auburn came up short against Sacred Heart and fell 43-36. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Irish are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Nebraska City hadn't done well against Falls City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Nebraska City put the hurt on Falls City with a sharp 46-21 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Pioneers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nebraska City's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Auburn strolled past Nebraska City in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 37-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Auburn since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
