After a string of three wins, The Gary West Side Cougars''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 37-22 bruising from Kankakee Valley.
Gary West Side's loss came despite strong showings from Guiseppe Moore and Omarion Youghbor. Moore rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, while Youghbor rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Moore is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Even if they lost, Gary West Side's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Ta'veon Lee and his two sacks.
Gary West Side's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Kankakee Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Gary West Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kankakee Valley's homestand continues as they prepare to take on New Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. New Prairie is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
