Baseball Recap: Galileo Wins Going Away Against Gateway

Galileo's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Gateway Gators with a sharp 12-2 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Zane Ridley and Elijah Michael were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Ridley struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Michael tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Ridley has posted since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Ridley went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Michael scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Ridley also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Diego Gil was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Elliott Hartman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Galileo now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Gateway, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Galileo will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gateway: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on March 18th.
