Soccer Game Preview: Brenham vs. Elgin

The Brenham Cubs are taking a road trip to face off against the Elgin Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Brenham put up the most goals they have all season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Giddings with a sharp 4-1 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Brenham were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Elgin waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Ricebirds by a score of 5-3. While Elgin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Elgin's win bumped their record up to 7-1-1. As for Brenham, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Brenham couldn't quite get it done against Elgin in their previous meeting back in January of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Cubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
