Atrisco Heritage Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janessa Gallegos, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. Gallegos scored a full 37% of Atrisco Heritage Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Celia Armijo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Valley's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Manzano at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Los Lunas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Lunas is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
