Football Recap: Legacy School of Sport Sciences Skates Past Richland with Ease + How To Watch

Everything came up roses for the Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans against the Richland Raiders on Thursday as the team secured a 56-22 victory. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Raiders are ranked 611th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legacy School of Sport Sciences got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Brown out in front who picked up 151 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Brown also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because the Titans are 3-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was Julian Shepherd, who rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Legacy School of Sport Sciences was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 89.7 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 151.

Despite the loss, Richland still got an impressive performance from Brighton Jones, who rushed for 82 yards and one score, and also threw for 131 yards and a pair of TDs.

Legacy School of Sport Sciences now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Richland, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-7 record.

Coming up, Legacy School of Sport Sciences will host Cornerstone Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Titans' defense better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 29.8 points per game this season. Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
