Baseball Game Preview: Earlville Red Raiders vs. Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders

Earlville is 0-3 against Ashton-Franklin Center since May of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Earlville Red Raiders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Earlville is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Gardner-South Wilmington on Monday, falling 17-2.

Earlville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaden Browder, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Ashton-Franklin Center unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-3 to Forreston on Monday.

Aaron Lester and Brock Lehman did some serious damage despite the final result: Lester scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Lehman went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lester has posted since back in April of 2024. Brody Ellis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Earlville might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Ashton-Franklin Center when the teams last played back in March of 2024.
