Dublin entered their tilt with Paso Robles on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bearcats. That's two games straight that the Gaels have won by just one run.

Matthew Phelps was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other pitching news, Dalton Doyle got the start for Dublin and what a start it was: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Doyle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Phelps wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Preston Chatterjee, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Dublin's record is now 12-3. As for Paso Robles, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-1.

Looking ahead, Dublin will head out on the road to challenge Dougherty Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gaels are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Paso Robles, they will be playing at home against Nipomo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
