Lovejoy is a perfect 10-0 against Denison since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Leopards will face off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Lovejoy's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last five matchups.

Lovejoy's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Anna 8-0. Lovejoy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Meanwhile, Denison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 9-1 to Walnut Grove. While losing is never fun, Denison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while Walnut Grove are ranked 17th).

Denison's loss dropped their record down to 1-16-1. As for Lovejoy, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.

Everything went Lovejoy's way against Denison when the teams last played back in January, as Lovejoy made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
