The Merritt Oilers will head out to challenge the Watonga Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Merritt and 19 for Watonga dating back to last season.

Merritt is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Crescent on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Merritt was outmatched by Crescent on the road and fell 45-8. The Oilers were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Watonga's offense. They were dealt a 53-0 loss at the hands of Hooker on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 40th).
