Softball Game Preview: Washington-Marion Charging Indians vs. Leesville Wampus Cats

Washington-Marion hasn't had much luck against Leesville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Charging Indians will square off against the Wampus Cats at 5:00 p.m. Washington-Marion has given up an average of 16.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Washington-Marion fell victim to Iowa and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, Leesville lost 13-7 to DeRidder on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wampus Cats in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost four in a row.

Kadence Reibold and Avery Bealer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Reibold scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances, while Bealer scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Rowlands, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Washington-Marion's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Leesville, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Washington-Marion couldn't quite finish off Leesville in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 19-17. Can the Charging Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
