Volleyball Recap: Bridgeport Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Bridgeport Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the McMahon Senators on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. While the Hilltoppers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bridgeport Central walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-19.

Malik Denton paced Bridgeport Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Denton got some help from Santiago Contreras-Nava and his 21 assists. Kevin Nguyen controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Bridgeport Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for McMahon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Bridgeport Central will face off against Trumbull at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hilltoppers surely won't give up without a fight. As for McMahon, they will square off against Warde/Ludlowe at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
