California - Division I (8 Man) Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Hayfork Wins 21st-Straight Thanks to Levi Cavalli

Levi Cavalli was instrumental in extending Hayfork's winning streak to 21 on Friday. Cavalli was dynamite, rushing for 175 yards and five touchdowns on only six carries. Cavalli is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 116 every time he's taken the field this season.

Chester had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Cavalli it was a similar story. Back in September (the last time Cavalli saw the Volcanoes), he rushed for 232 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries.

Big Game from Noah As Burney Won 34-16

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Kyle Noah stepped things up a notch to give Burney the 'W'. Plumas Charter had no answer to Noah as he rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 84 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Noah didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Unfortunately for Plumas Charter, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Noah. Back in September (the last time Noah saw the Warriors), he rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.

A Season-Best Performance from Anthony Loza Leads Tulelake over Loyalton

Anthony Loza produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Tulelake to the win on Friday. Loza rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 55 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

If the past is any indication, Loza could be in store for another big game when he takes on Chester on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Loza saw the Volcanoes), he picked up 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
