Baseball Game Preview: North Harford Hawks vs. Edgewood Rams

North Harford has gone 7-1 against Edgewood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will head out to challenge the Rams at 3:30 p.m. The last four games North Harford has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

North Harford took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Havre de Grace 8-6.

Sean Ellis tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Nate Burd was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Charlie Hunter also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Edgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Harford Tech.

North Harford pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Everything went North Harford's way against Edgewood in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as North Harford made off with an 18-0 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
