Baseball Recap: Cleveland Extends Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cleveland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the United South Central Rebels by a score of 12-8. With that victory, the Clippers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Cleveland got a massive performance out of Nathan Seeman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those hits marked the first that Seeman got this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Connor, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Seeman wasn't the only one making solid contact: Cleveland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win keeps Cleveland at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average this season. As for United South Central, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Cleveland will head out on the road to challenge Sleepy Eye at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for United South Central, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at 4:30 p.m. The Thunderbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
