Football Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

Valley View extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were outmatched by the Tom Bean Tomcats and fell 49-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 64-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Tom Bean, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 36.6 points thus far.

Tom Bean's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Donnie Hooten led the charge by throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. Slayton Farris was in the mix as well, providing the Tomcats with two scores.

Coming up, Valley View is taking a road trip to take on Whitewright at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tom Bean, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairiland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
