Basketball Recap: Chattanooga Christian Chargers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Chattanooga Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish an easy 63-42 victory. The Chargers were down 54-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Gaas Herman was his usual excellent self, putting up 20 points for Notre Dame. The contest was Herman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Walt Wagnon was another key player, posting nine points.
Chattanooga Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Notre Dame, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Chattanooga Christian will take on Nolensville in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Nolensville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Chattanooga Christian likes a good challenge. As for Notre Dame, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. Notre Dame is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
