The Wade Hampton Generals will face off against the Gaffney Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaffney took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wade Hampton, who comes in off a win.
Wade Hampton took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Eastside 12-2. Considering the Generals have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kellyn Kingston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Wade Hampton got a massive performance out of Breleigh Betsill, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Betsill is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Placko, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Gaffney was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 16-1 to Dorman. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Cavaliers since March 14, 2023.
Gaffney dropped their record down to 7-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wade Hampton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Wade Hampton was able to grind out a solid victory over Gaffney in their previous meeting back in March, winning 15-10. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
