Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Prairie Central Hawks
Lincoln has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Prairie Central Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Lincoln was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to MacArthur.
Meanwhile, Prairie Central pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beecher. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), Prairie Central still had to take the loss.
Tyler Curl put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Tredennick, who scored 11 points.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Prairie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.
Lincoln took their victory against Prairie Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2019 by a conclusive 61-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
