Softball Recap: Montgomery Catholic Takes a Loss

Montgomery Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smiths Station Panthers. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Rylee Wilcoxson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Montgomery Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Smiths Station, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Catholic will face off against Prattville Christian Academy at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Smiths Station will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Beauregard at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
