Softball Recap: Salinas Gets the Win

Salinas is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Alisal on Thursday, but Alisal came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Cowboys came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Trojans. The three-run effort marked the Cowboys' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bella Machuca spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isabella Hernandez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Gigi Rossi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Salinas' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Alisal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Salinas will welcome Palma at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alisal, they will head out to take on North Monterey County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
