Softball Game Preview: Temecula Valley Golden Bears vs. Murrieta Valley Nighthawks

Temecula Valley hasn't had much luck against Murrieta Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Temecula Valley will head out to challenge Murrieta Valley at 3:30 p.m. Temecula Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Temecula Valley is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 10-4 to Great Oak.

Nyomi Simental made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Samantha Light also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Murrieta Valley made easy work of Chaparral on Friday and carried off a 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Nighthawks in their matchups with the Pumas: they've now won five in a row.

The win got Murrieta Valley back to even at 5-5. As for Temecula Valley, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Temecula Valley came up short against Murrieta Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 13-10. Can Temecula Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
