Softball Recap: Westview Takes a Loss

Westview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Peabody Golden Tide. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Tide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 two weeks ago.

Sarah Byars made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Crislyn Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Peabody, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Westview will challenge University School of Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Peabody, they will head out on the road to face off against Union City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
