Batavia scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Monroe Hornets by a score of 16-15.

Batavia now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Monroe, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Looking ahead, Batavia will face off against Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give Batavia their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Monroe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Fenwick at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Monroe's pitchers better be ready for this one: Bishop Fenwick has averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
