Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Greenbrier East Spartans
The Princeton Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Greenbrier East Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Princeton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They really took it to Capital for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-23 win at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Asia Collins was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 11 rebounds and 13 assists. It was the first time this season that she posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Stull, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier East got the win against James Monroe on Tuesday by a conclusive 76-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Greenbrier East.
The win (which was Princeton's third in a row) raised their record to 12-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Greenbrier East, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Princeton beat Greenbrier East 53-46 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Princeton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
