Basketball Game Preview: Maplewood Rockets vs. Grand Valley Mustangs

Maplewood hasn't had much luck against Grand Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Maplewood Rockets will host the Grand Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

Maplewood is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 55-39 to Pymatuning Valley.

Meanwhile, Grand Valley entered their tilt with Mathews on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Mustangs, posting a 61-34 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Grand Valley has posted against Mathews since January 13, 2017.

Grand Valley pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Maplewood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Maplewood was taken down by Grand Valley 64-30 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Maplewood was down 40-18.
