Basketball Recap: Berthoud Spartans vs. Severance Silver Knights

Berthoud came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 94-46 loss at the hands of the Severance Silver Knights. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Silver Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Severance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blake Varney, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 21 points and five boards. With that strong performance, Varney is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Christian Powell was another key player, shooting 53% from the field to rack up 20 points.

Berthoud now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Severance, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.
