Basketball Recap: Antonio Sanchez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mission Oak over Sierra

Mission Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 75-53 to the Sierra Chieftains.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antonio Sanchez, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Jackson, who posted seven points along with 11 boards and five blocks.

Even though they lost, Mission Oak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Mission Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Mission Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-60 loss against Independence on the 28th. As for Sierra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-41 defeat against Justin Garza on the 28th.
