The Farmington Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Eagan Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Farmington will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
If Farmington beats Eagan with 12 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Prior Lake on Monday. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Olivia Peterson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kaydence Moe also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Eagan had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Shakopee on Monday.
Eagan also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Jocelyn McClary gave up a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. McClary has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eagan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Holt, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Lilly Whipple was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Farmington pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Eagan, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Eagan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Farmington has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. It's a different story for Eagan, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Farmington's hitters?
Farmington was able to grind out a solid win over Eagan in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
