Basketball Recap: Tomball Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Tomball challenged Alief Taylor on Saturday. The Tomball Cougars took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alief Taylor Lions. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Alief Taylor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brent Johnson, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tae Malik, who had 13 points and five rebounds.

Tomball's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Alief Taylor, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Tomball wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-40 defeat against Klein on the 10th. As for Alief Taylor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-37 loss against Magnolia West on the 7th.
