Basketball Recap: Alicia Londono's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Horizon Honors over Arizona Lutheran Academy

If Horizon Honors was feeling good fresh off their 50-26 takedown of Veritas Prep last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The matchup between the Horizon Honors Eagles and the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes didn't end well, with the Horizon Honors Eagles falling 53-36. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alicia Londono, who posted nine points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists gave Londono a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audriana Anglada, who put up eight points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Horizon Honors smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Horizon Honors' defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Horizon Honors wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-14 win against Santa Cruz Valley on the 24th. Arizona Lutheran Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 58-42 victory against Veritas Prep on the 23rd.
