Basketball Recap: Snow Canyon's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Snow Canyon won the last time they faced Cedar and things went their way on Friday too. The Snow Canyon Warriors came out on top against the Cedar Reds by a score of 56-49. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Snow Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reggie Mackay, who went 8 for 16 en route to 19 points and five boards. Joseph Smith was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Cedar lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Logan Payne, who posted 13 points and six boards. That's the most points Payne has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nixon Prisbrey, who earned seven points and five rebounds.

Snow Canyon's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16. As for Cedar, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19.

Snow Canyon will welcome Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Cedar, they will head out to square off against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
