Baseball Recap: Stark County Gets the Win

Stark County won the last time they faced Peoria Heights and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Dillon Steelman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Stark County: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Steelman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Steelman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jasen Knowles, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Stark County's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Peoria Heights, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Stark County will venture away from home to square off against Princeville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Peoria Heights, they will host Havana at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The game will give the Patriots their first taste of in-conference action this season.
