Baseball Game Preview: Barnesville Shamrocks vs. Monroe Central Seminoles

The Barnesville Shamrocks are taking a road trip to square off against the Monroe Central Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Barnesville has four straight wins, Monroe Central has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Barnesville can't be too worried about heading out to take on Monroe Central: they just beat Caldwell at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Shamrocks came out on top against the Redskins by a score of 6-2 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Monroe Central came up short against Toronto on Wednesday, falling 9-2.

Caleb Griffith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Monroe Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Barnesville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Barnesville was able to grind out a solid win over Monroe Central when the teams last played on Saturday, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shamrocks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
