After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oxford, Lafayette was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They skirted past the Pontotoc Warriors 3-2. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lafayette got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-27, 25-17, 17-25, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Pontotoc had strong showings from Sara Campos, who had 24 digs and two aces, and Madi Collums, who had 21 assists and 11 digs. Campos has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 13-19. As for Pontotoc, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-15-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lafayette will welcome Cleveland Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pontotoc, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lanier at 6:00 p.m.
