Softball Recap: Holy Cross Find Success

Holy Cross's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Boone County Rebels 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since March 29th.

Holy Cross' win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madison Urlage, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Holy Cross back to even at 8-8-1. As for Boone County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Holy Cross will take on Beechwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.95 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Boone County, they will face off against Villa Madonna at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
