Softball Recap: Houma Christian Warriors vs. Bourgeois Braves

In what's become a running theme this season, Houma Christian gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past the Bourgeois Braves 15-3. Winning may never get old, but Houma Christian sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Destiny Pierce made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Pierce was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Houma Christian got a massive performance out of Hailey Henry, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Madison Hundley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a triple, a run, and a double.

On Bourgeois' side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Kyzar, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Houma Christian's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Bourgeois, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Houma Christian will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Berwick at 3:00 p.m. Houma Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Berwick likes a good challenge. As for Bourgeois, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against South Lafourche at 1:00 p.m.
