Preview: The Ambrose School Archers vs. Lapwai Wildcats
The Ambrose School Archers will face off against the Lapwai Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ambrose School is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Tuesday, The Ambrose School was able to grind out a solid win over Marsing, taking the game 51-41. Despite the win, that was the fewest points The Ambrose School has scored all year.
Lapwai has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Clearwater Valley 89-37 on the road. The victory was just business as usual for Lapwai, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Kase Wynott was on fire: he shot 4-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double on 43 points and 16 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Ahlius Yearout was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
The Ambrose School pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lapwai, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
The Ambrose School came up short against Lapwai in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, falling 65-59. Can The Ambrose School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
