Asheboro took a blow against Uwharrie Charter Academy, falling 52-18. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Comets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Williams had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Patriots 54-16. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Asheboro better focus on containing Ry'Leigh Surles and Madison Harris as the pair were huge in Williams' win. Surles went 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points and four steals, while Harris posted 11 points. Harris is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Scott, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Williams pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Asheboro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
