After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against KIPP Denver Collegiate, Vanguard Classical East was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the William Smith Eagles. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
 One reason for the win was Vanguard Classical East's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11,  25-8.
Vanguard Classical East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Briza Bentancourt led the charge by  getting five  aces. The team also got some help courtesy of  Miley Paul, who  had five  aces and four assists.
 They weren't the only good servers: Vanguard Classical East  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 25  aces. That's the most  aces they've managed all season.
Vanguard Classical East now  has a winning record of 7-6. As for William Smith,  they are  on  a  20-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
 Vanguard Classical East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-0  victory against Aurora West College Prep Academy on the 29th. As for William Smith, they have also already played their next matchup,  a  3-0  loss against Ascent Classical Academy on the 29th.
