Basketball Recap: Ifeanyi Ezeala Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Horeb Christian won the last time they faced Cristo Rey and things went their way on Monday too. The Horeb Christian Mustangs took down the Cristo Rey Monarchs 80-63. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Horeb Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ifeanyi Ezeala out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ezeala is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Anthony Roman was another key player, going 8 of 19 on his way to 24 points.

Horeb Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Horeb Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Cristo Rey, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Horeb Christian will venture away from home to take on Hebrew Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cristo Rey, they will head out to challenge Somerset Academy Central Miramar at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset Academy Central Miramar will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cristo Rey surely won't give up without a fight.
